TOO MUCH CANDY GONNA RIDE YOUR SOUL

Oil on canvas 40x60cm
Sometimes you start to paint and life is faster than your hands. I look at this painting and it has nothing to do with me! I don't recognize myself in this work. I'm much older now than when I started to paint this swing caroussel a few weeks ago. Years, maybe decades had passed... I fell weak and vulnerable. Why is all those people laughing when even love can make you miserable? Wouldn't be a good idea to cut all the cables?

Hmm....interesting that the carnival ride in this picture is painted "on the edge..." It is beautifully done though...and not such a good idea to cut the cables! Hard to say if the people on the ride are enjoying a feeling of freedom or if they are feeling "on the edge" of danger.

Hey, it's my friend Paula!
I like when I see people I know working the blogs!
This painting would make a great illustration for a book. I really like the story like quality of the scene. Your comments are intriguing about being drawn to paint something so far from your experience.

I love that ride, so gentle and yet so powerful. This is an image I'd like in my life, filling up a wall in a sewing room or a postcard stuck in a mirror or wrapping paper... it just sort of rolls its eyes at a world of smiles....
